just put my motor together and was wondering what the rocker bolts have to be torqued down to?

that depends on if the rocker studs are pressed in or screwed in 4.3L V6
screwed in studs 1994-1996 20 ft lbs. 1997-1999 18 ft lbs
pressed in studs you will need to adjust the valve lash as if you were working on a 350 v8

ok i have pressed in studs but they have a flange bolts and i heard that the flange bolts are the ones that have to be torqued down and the other ones are adjusted like a regular v8

what year type and vin code is your engine ?

and another thing is that one side has 5/8 studs and the other ones have 3/8

sounds like you have 2 different heads or one has been drilled out but i stand by my info
if the studs are pressed in. adjust them for lash as you would a 350 v8. for reference pick up a Chilton manual on s series pickups.
