Since the interwebs are a time-sensitive place my last thread got closed before I could even get the work done.
https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...rebuild-53407/
Anyway, just completed the rebuild on both the steering box and the pump. Total was about $40 to rebuild both units. There are good writeups for both with a quick Google search. These are the two I used:
Gearbox:
Saginaw Box Rebuild - How To! - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum
Pump:
Power Steering Pump Rebuild - The Corvette Restoration Page
After getting it all done there are only a few things I could add. The pump is very simple except they should put in bold that you should not remove the shaft bushing unless it is abolutely necessary or you have access to a press. I thought I would try to just tap it in and the fit is very tight and I ended up destroying the bushing resulting in the purchase of an additional kit.
As for the gearbox, it went rather well and the only snag I ran into was getting the ***** back into the piston. The writeup shows a bolt or something to retain the ***** for assembly. I thought I would be tricky and put them in through the stator shaft hole. This worked but it took several attempts. So if you have patience and a good eye it can be done with nothing more than a few hand tools.
Overall not hard to do but a parts washer makes it a lot easier.

Gonna throw this in as an update. The Rag Joint can be purchased in the HELP section under Dorman part number 31002. I found that in another thread. Apparently the most common part on shelves is for a Ford though. I got that one on accident.
Getting the rivets out is way more work than it should be though. They can be replaced with a 5/16" x 1" bolt.
