Scan tool for 4WD faults?
What type of scan tool do I need to retrieve fault codes from the TCCM?
I have an Actron Pocket Scanner for OBD2 codes. Is there a cheap tool out there for the latter?

3-button - NO. fault codes are not read by a scanner. they are displayed by jumpering a connector.
4-button Auto 4WD - maybe. I think Car Gauge Pro Android app will read/clear TCCM fault codes, but have never yet done it as I have not had a TCCM code come up since I fixed mine. Have only read/cleared BCM codes on my 2004 Avalanche. Should be pretty much the same thing. I do know it can connect with the TCCM module on my 2001 Blazer at the correct address and that it has a scan all faults/clear all faults function that I used for the BCM codes on the Avalanche. Recommend BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 adapter as sold on Amazon. Will cost you about $30 total to find out. $8.95 for the software + about $22 for the Bluetooth adapter. This scanner app is very useful on Blazers, even if it doesn't work for the 4WD. Not the easiest to use or understand but it does the trick. I take it your service 4WD light is on?

Thanks for the reply Les. Yes, my service 4WD light was on. I took it to a local guy who "reset" the TCCM for me last month. He was not available when it came back on last week and would not disengage from 4HI. I took it to the local repair shop who diagnosed it with a C0324 code. They then, after troubleshooting, told me I needed a new TCCM and replaced it for me. All is well now. Lots of $$ later.
I have had a few different 4WD issues over the years of having the blazer. I would like to have a proper scan tool if it isn't too expensive. I'll give the BAFX model a try. Thanks again.
