Question Scapping Noise from the Tranny area...

I didn't see any reference to my issue using the SEARCH feature.

I just had the engine swapped out a couple weeks ago in my 99 Blazer.

Since then, it's being making a not very loud scrapping type noise down near the tranny and up near the firewall.

It's not real loud and at first I thought it may even be air trapped in the heater core.

Today, I discovered the noise ONLY happens when I shift the tranny into Drive. It does NOT make the noise at idle or when I shift into Reverse. The transmission is shifting very well with no discernable problems.

The noise was NOT there BEFORE the engine was swapped out.

It's apparent to me that it has to do something with the Torque Converter.

But WHAT and why would this develope during an engine swap ??

Bellhousing hit the flywheel when the 2 were mated???

IF that's the case, I can think of one way to confirm; pull the plugs, and hold the starter engaged for one or 2 engine rotations (30 seconds?). Listen for uneven engagement of starter/flywheel.
