Anyone know how to repair a leaking high pressure side schrader valve leak ?r-134a System

How bad is it leaking? I have had one leak after I have removed a set of gauges before, but I just put the gauges back on and removed them again and it didn't leak after that...

Hey Kyle,
I put 3 cans of freon in before I knew it was leaking. I kept wondering why the pressure would build up then fall off quickly. finally noticed oil/dirt around that vale and removed the cover and could hear it. Only leaks though when the compressor is pumping.
Thanks,
Richard

Hm.. Well, it probably still is leaking even when the compressor is not running, just not much. I would try to put a full set of gauges on it and flush out that line. Not sure what to do if you do not have access to a full set of gauges though...
Hope it wasn't 3 big cans! That would be a lot of refridgerant.

Hey I just found aon Advance Auto web site a Interdynamics Valve Core Tool. I also seen a set of valve cores. I may drop by one of their stores this afternoon. Have you ever had any experience with these?

First time I've ever hear of them... One thing is for sure though, you will want to recover any and all refridgerant from the system before attempting to replace a valve.

It was 36 oz. of 134a that I had wasted. I would imagine that most is gone already to that great Ozone hole in the sky
