Default Screaming Front End

Ok...I had a previous post concerning my 96 jimmy 4x4.
There were no replies..that's cool..it was a techy question.

So...the front pass side cv is screaming behind the area where the two flanges with the 6 or 8 bolts clamp the crap together.
The shaft can be raised up approx 1-1/2'' just outside the tranny case or whatever you want to call it.
(frame is on jack stands, which would add play cause shaft is hanging)

Question...Is this thing repairable (I'm thinking about a destroyed bushing inside the case)
Am I out of line in my thinking,I plan on yanking the CV shaft and checking it out.
Is the INNR bearing replaceable witout dropping the tranny.
If not..she's gonna get scrapped.

Default same issue

I have the same issue with my blazer 98.. its comming from the passenger side and my tech said it was the bearing inside the axle it cost me 15 bucks in parts to fix from a dealer. he pulled out the axle and used a long bar to bang out the old bearing threw the old one in and then reinstalled.... havent picked it up as i need to replace the pitman arm and a couple other things...
