service engine light wont come on, but theres codes

If you read the description in the tech articles for P0340, it say it has to be a problem on 2 consecutive key cycles before the SES light will come on. I assume the code you are reading is pending from problem on only 1 key cycle or on non-adjacent key cycles.

I noticed similar behavior with a pending misfire code on mine at one point in the past.

If you are getting a pending PO340 after clearing (but no SES light at the moment), then you most likely still have an intermittent problem that on occasion might decide to turn on the SES light.

im gonna recheck and see if theres any current codes. yea the time after the whole engine turning off while driving, it ran fine.

is there a way to check if the ses light it functioning properly? it does come on when key on engine off

That and the light going out when started is the check.
