Default Service Engine Soon light question..new to owning a blazer

The past month or so my service engine soon light will come on in the morning soon after i begin my drive to school, when it does it feels like i have turned the ac on, it loses alot of throttle power, ac was not on though, and it goes off on the way home, its happened 3 times now to me, each time getting alittle worse. about 6 months ago i replaced spark plugs, distributor cap, fuel pressure regulator. Also is there anyway to find out what that light is indicating without having the code be read from like auto zone or orielys, tried both those places they cant read it since my blazer is an obd 1 systme.

95 chevy blazer
4-wheel drive
4.3L V-6

any help would be much appreciated. I dont know much about my blazer, I havent owned it for very long yet.

Well the best way would be to go to a shop that has the OBD 1.5 scanner and have them get your codes. Most shops will do that for free.

Yeah thats sounds a bit weird. Most places have obd1 and it will be free most often. But you need to def get it read soon. Some cel's are little things, even multiple things just from stuff going out over time but yours sounds like some real engine trouble.

Ive heard of a way to be able to read the code with a Code reader, dont know the name of it, but it was something like jumper pins or something like that and the service engine light will blink "X" amount of times for the number of the code...anyone know of this?
