Default SES after cleaning EGR/IAC

I cleaned my EGR today , there was not alot of gunk nor was the spring being held in due to carbon. I also took the IAC off , sprayed that with carb cleaner and cleaned it up real good. I did accidently compress the spring a little and feel i put it back in place. I re-installed both and have a way better idle but have a SES light now. I test drove it and everything is fine and everything is plugged back in...Any ideas to the cause ?.

Well I would get it scanned first to see what the code is and then post it so we can tell you more.

i believe the ses light stays on even after you have fixed the problem. When i replaced my egr, it stayed on. But after stopping and starting the engine a few times it turned off I think (dont remember exactly). I also heard that you can just disconnect the battery for about 5 min to reset the computer, and then the light will turn off. If the problem is fixed, it shouldnt turn back on, but if you didnt, it will turn back on after a little bit driving.
