Default Shifting Encoder?

I explained my 4x4 problems to my mechanic and he said there is a problem with the shifting encoder on these Blazers(just emailed him and don't want to bug him too much, so don't tell me to ask him, plus I want to see if anyone has had an issue). I can't find a part number for it. Anyone know?

The encoder is built in the transfer case motor and as far as I know there's no part # because it's not available separately, you replace the motor.
