long as the wheels aren't slipping you can go 2hi to 4hi and back at any reasonable speed, 2hi to 4lo needs to be in neutral stopped....

Overdrive is good for any driving, you should only need to be in D if you are towing...

I only take it out of overdrive if towing up a hill or towing more than reasonable for a vehicle of this size which, in my opinion, is over 3500lbs. As long as the engine isn't lugging I don't think it's a problem. If you have to goose the gas for some reason it's going to downshift automatically.

Per my owner's manual, you can shift on the fly 35 mph and below. You cannot shift from 2hi to 4lo. You have to shift from 2hi to 4hi, and then from 4hi to 4lo either in park or neutral at a complete stop.

HAHA I just noticed you live in Gulfport MS....I used to live there....many a moon ago. On venetian gardens right between Gulfport and Biloxi

Ok back on topic.... My owners manual says 2hi to 4hi at any speed.....4lo in neutral either stopped or less than 3mph.

It also states 4hi can be driven at any speed. and you can shift from 2hi to 4lo as long as the other parameters are met (neutral and stopped or less than 3mph). It will NOT let you shift until the parameters are met (ie. the light blinks but switches back to the current setting if parameters aren't met within 15 seconds or so.)
