Should i replace the fuel pump
#1
In the spring i will most likely be dropping the gas tank so i can bolt down my sub box. Should i replace the pump while i have the tank out. By then i will be around 110k on i believe the original pump. Is it common for them to go bad or am i ok for a while. It is showing no sign of failing.

I personally wouldn't do it unless you were having an issue with it. Seems like these pumps do crap out at around 100 -150,000 on average(my experience)-so doing it(if you're ABSOLUTEY sure it has never been done and want to spend $300-400 for an AC Delco unit) does make some sense in theory but....I'd antisieze all applicable parts upon dropping it and if no issues, put it back up. In fact when you drop it, you may see a date tag on the module and it may show that it has been done within the past three, four or five years makng your decision to leave it in more concrete. JP

Mine went at about 180,00 Kms, might as well change it while you have it out, and the filter too if it has not been changed.
