Default Side step removal

Hey everyone, I have a 2000 blazer 4 door. Looking to remove two side step/bars from my car but it looks like they are attached to the frame into some large rubber bushings. Not sure if they are for the steps or necessary for the blazer. And if I do remove the bolt does it need to be screwed back in with a certain amount of torque. Thanks. I'll put up pictures when I get home.

if the bolts are vertical into the body then they piggy back the cab mounts. take the two bolts and hardware out of each side and remove steps, you need to reinstall the bolt, 1 cupped washer and the 1 rubber back into the body and tourqe to about 85 foot pounds. ive seen them mounted all kinds of odd ways so a pic to verify the setup u have would be cool. they may have used longer bolts too to fit them and if so they will be too long to reinstall without the steps, would have to space or get 4 oem bolts out of a junk yard. you dont wanna punch holes in the floor lol

Yeah I took mine off, you will need 4 stock bolts from a junk yard.
