Default signal loss to injector spider

I have no signal to the spider to allow the fuel in were does the signal come from? no error codes? checked fuses and fuel pressure tested wiring too & every thing came out alright ? from what I'm told it does have a high flow fuel pump? Don't know if that matters.I am told that it runs fine if you feed it fuel manually? I think it's the spider?? although I have not looked at it my self this is not my truck it's my friend & he needs help any advice would be great...it's a 99 with a 4.3... thanks guys

Sounds to me like the fuel pressure regulator (fpr) is bad remove the top of the intake manafold. You can see the injector spider with the fpr attached. Crank the motor over while you watch the fpr if it leaks fuel replace it. its about $35.00 and may solve your problem. only takes about 30 min to get the manafold off. simple job.
