Exclamation single year only issue?

ok, here's a whopper of a question for ya............

Has anyone ever heard that the 2000 Sonoma is a 1 year only engine?

some tool is insisting that his truck has a 1 year only production, and therefore "rare".

never heard of this before, and told him i thought as such, but did get into it too much.

anyone else know anything about this?

The s-series pickups did have the vin-X 4.3L which I believe was just a detuned vin-W in this time frame. My uncle's '99 Sonoma has the vin-X 4.3L SCFI engine. I'm not aware of any other "rare", single year only option though.

So this guy's engine is a rare "lower performance" engine option? That is kinda funny.

i thought the 4.3 X-code only came around in '03? guess some of my info is wrong.

Concerning the Blazer, that is correct, but it was in the pickups long before that.
