2001 Blazer. The gauges on the dash, and radio werent working, so i replaced the fuses and it worked. But then the cassette player started smoking. So i went back into AutoZone and the guy told me there may be a wiring problem with it which would of caused it to blow a fuse. Anyone else ever hear of this happening? Need help on what to do, and if its an easy fix.

 

traceing wires is never an easy fix so in no way shape or form will it be easy. the frist question i have is do you use the tape player bc if you dont take it out as it maybe a short in the player itself. 2 if you do want to still be able to use the tape player you will have to track the wires from the player to see if there are any breaks or kinks in the wire. in order for u to do that you will have to remove the center console the cover plates under the dash and most of the dash itself
