I have a P0155 code (bank2 sensor1, Passenger side) and ordered a sensor. Q: what kind of socket gives the best leverage for loosening up the sensor? It looks pretty tight in there.
It's a 7/8" I believe. They sell a special socket for O2 sensor removal. It's basically a 1/2" drive 7/8" deep socket with a slit down the side for the sensor wires to stick out.
Can't remember which sensor position it was, but I had to just use a 7/8" open end wrench, there wasn't enough room between the sensor and floor board for the ratchet head
If you needed or wanted too use a wrench why would you need to cut the wire, can't you just unplug it, and if you wanted use the box end slide the wire thu the box end.
I guess depending on where you live, they can get quite stubborn, huh? I always forget the kinda rust y'all gotta deal with up there. I've never had any problems getting O2 sensors out, even 20+ year old ones!
