Default Spider injection assembly and higher intake gasket

Hi,
I have a 1996 blazer 4.3 LS 2wd, it now running real ruff so i brought it to a mechanic and he diagnosed it and said it was my spider injector assembly and higher intake gasket AKA plenum gasket. How would i go about replacing these parts. How much time and how hard will it be. Can i have instructions if anybody has done it. Any suggestions would be great.
thanks

How did he come to that assumption? Have you gotten a second opinion?

Have you tried running fuel injector cleaner through it?
