Starter removal trouble
I'm replacing the starter in my 95 GMC Jimmy 4x4. I have read through all the suggestions online and in this forum but it's been 2 days and I still cannot get the old(factory) starter out. I have tried every angle possible, rotating it(no room to rotate more than a quarter inch), flipping it(no clearance to even start to flip it), pushing it as far forward as possible, etc. I can't get it far enough to get the nipple clear of the bell housing to remove it. The motor mount bracket in front and the exhaust manifold on top seems to be what's blocking it. I've spent about 3 hours each of the last 2 days and still no luck. Any insight/advice/tips is greatly appreciated as this is my only vehicle and I really need to get to and from work.
