starting

My 01 blazer will never start on the first try but will start right up on the second try and run fine any idea on why it it takes a second try to start.

Try priming the fuel pump before trying to start it.. (turn the key to the on position for 3 seconds)

^^^ Yup! Check fuel pressure and leakdown first. Classic symptom of a failing pump. Most auto parts stores rent/loan/sell the tester. Let us know when you have one and we'll walk you through the test. Quick & simple, takes about 15 minutes.
