Default steering issue's

First of all i have to say that i have been a ford guy all my life, out of all makes, i have owned more ford's then anything. So now im an owner of a 1996 blazer LS and i truly like the blazer. One question i had though, in the fords i have owned i noticed that the it is real easy to steer them i could use one finger to make turns, now that i own the blazer im finding to be alot stiffer and seems like its more work then it should be.Is this normal for the blazer or could i have a power steering pump going bad? It doesnt make any noise or anything and is full of fluid,i know it does need an alignment but i wouldnt think that would make it hard to turn.It isnt anything i need both hands for just seems like it should be easier.

I know exactly what you're referring to and the Blazer does require more effort to steer. To decrease steering effort, the steering gear box must be modified. There are companies that do the modification for physically challenged drivers, here's one of them: http://www.drive-master.com/steering.htm
