Default Strange ticking behind glove box

When I am driving there is a strange ticking that sounds like a turn signal coming from behind the glove box. When I touch the brake pedal it stops and starts again when I take my foot off the break pedal. I looked behind the glove box and noticed a wire harness and a small black square that looks like it may be some type of fuse. Any ideas?

I'm not sure of your year but I'm sure of the problem........................................... ....multi-function switch(too lazy to look up your previous post about your partially plugged heater code to see what year you have-makes no difference tho). Jerry[X(]

I wouldn't recommend getting one of ebay. It might not last, so it might be cheaper in the long run to get a new oem one. I also have this same problem. Haven't replaced it yet since i dont have the money right now and it still works. You can also make it stop by moving the switch around alittle. I would wait till it breaks completly before replacing it. I havent noticed mine clicking for a while now.

Also considering that, depending on year as previously stated, you may just have to replace the hazard switch on the top of the steering column to cure this problem (to the tune of ~$15 from the dealer), you may want to start there.

If you mess with the hazard switch (turn it on and off rapidly), does the clicking go away?
