stuck in park how to fix?

Default stuck in park how to fix?

hey guys got another question, my 98 got stuck in park so i pulled the boot and pressed/moved the whiter lever got it in drive and got it home, now i need to know how to fix it, because it doesnt look like the white lever has anything pushing on it so i dont know how its supposed to look or operate, any help would be great.

brake switch. the parking lock is released when you step on the brake if the switch goes bad it wont work, also truck has to be on to do it and you should also check the fuses too just to make sure its not a blown fuse

ok everywhere else i have checked is saying it is the shift interlock switch, could that be it?

yea they might call it that, its on the brake pedal

the brake interlock switch is in the center console on the shifter assembly its not the brake switch

oh you got a center shift, nice

well check the fuses first i have a bravada that i just got and it had a blown brake fuse so i coulnt get it out of park either

ok i will, for today though just gonna haft to push that lever for now got a bunch of stuff to do today, and if it is the interlock switch or the brake switch do you know how much they are to replace?
