whats the electirc shifter attached to the tranny called on a 2001 chevy lazer 4wd

Default whats the electirc shifter attached to the tranny called on a 2001 chevy lazer 4wd

automatic tranny need to know what that thing is called it shifts the egars electriciallly whats that part called?

On the outside of the transfer case, that shifts between 2 & 4WD, that's called the encoder motor. Inside the transmission that shifts gears, those are shift solenoids.

no its directly attached to the transmission not the transfer case....it shifts from park to neutral to drive etc ....

Shift cable, shift rod. Electrical: park/neutral position and backup lamp switch
