Default stuff on head bolts?

is this thread sealant that is applied to the factory head bolts? i am going to be getting a set of arp head bolts and want to know what i should use on them. do i use liquid applied thread sealant, plumbers tape, or something else?

also, is there any difference in head bolt design between the 350 and 4.3? the arp kit is $150 for the 4.3, but only $75 for the 350.

Well, I hate to surprise you but I know the answer - it's on page 2B-14 of the Haynes manual.

Oh, you wanted it for free? It's a non-hardening sealant like Permatex #2.

What I'm getting at here is that I'm wondering why you took such a combative attitude just because nobody jumped up and solved your question? Remember that nobody here gets paid to answer questions, we're just a community of owners who try to help each other.

I used to use a product by Fel Pro called Pli-A-Seal for head bolts. It too was a non-hardening sealant. I haven't seen it lately, may have been discontinued. The FSM calls for GM #12346004 sealant for the head bolts which is a teflon pipe sealant. ARP makes a similar product as well.

thanks guys. the combative attitude tends to get answers around here when a general question does not

I'll remember that the next time I see it used.

A simple bump is all that is necessary. Not the **** poor attitude. Good luck getting responses from here on out.
