My 2001 Blazer had real bad tapping sound plus white smoke and so I parked it until I could afford to have the motor rebuilt and when I was getting ready to take it to shop I had to charge the battery because it was dead and when I fired it up, it ran PERFECT!!! NO Smoke, NO Tapping, NOTHING, then last night it start tapping just for about 30 seconds when I started it and then went back to normal. HELP!!!! I don't want to pay to have motor work if I don't need it

 

excessive white smoke is normally an intake manifold gasket leaking or head gasket... Tapping noise could be a lifter going bad...
