Default Timing Chain

This regards to 2000 Blazer 4.3 4X4. Has anyone replaced there Timing chain for gears only. Pro? Con's?

No experience with regards to the 4.3


I do know that SBC tend to whine loudly with gear sets

yeah i got the pete jackson timing gear set in my 400sb in a 86 chevy. i kinda like the sound but the problem i run into is anytime im trying to find any kind of noise under the hood good luck hearing it over that noise. kinda sounds like a bad alternator

also the one i installed wasnt a direct fit, it had to be ground down to a specific depth to fit between the timing cover, kinda scary as i was a novice at the time i just wanted the sound. but like 4-5 years later its still working fine.
