Default Tips for gettint to the heater core

I would appreciate it if anyoneshare any tips on getting to the heater core on a 96 Blazer. I'm a back yard mechanic and thought I would like to attempt to change it myself.
Thanks
Norm

Take a part the dash. I believe it's the same as mine, 1997, and my heater core was in the dash. It's fun!!!
Sorry to say, there's no cheats in this project.

It was certainly a task, but if I had to do it again, it would be a piece of cake ..... almost.

i have a 96 and i replaced mine with the help of my dad, but yeah theres really no cheats, you just have to take your time and there are a ton of wires and connections but luckilyeach can only connect toits female or male connecting partnerso you dont really have to label any wires. andif you go at a good steady pace you might be able to do it in a day or two. it would also be nice to have a partner to help with the removal of the dash from the car which sure made it alot easier to get to and replace the actual heater core itself when i did it.

If I remember correctly, first time took about 7 hours...second time about 3. BUY ACDELCO. I do for everything but needed this done in a hurry. Less then a month later it blew again. Learn from my mistake and for a job like this, use nothing but the best parts and www.rockauto.com for the lowest prices.

By the time you're done at least you'll have pretty extensive knowledge of your dash setup...ENJOY!
