Tire carrier bolts on 05 2 door

Default Tire carrier bolts on 05 2 door

Nuts have broke loose and can't find a way to get to them

Might have to drill them out and tap them... have you tried going from behind and using vise grips to pull them the rest of them way? Itll take a little long then drilling and taping, but more cost efficient...

I dont have a 2 door, But I put a tire carrier on my 4 door, it should be about the same. You can remove the plastic wall trim panel on the inside and fold the carpet back once removed. At that point i believe you can see all of the bolts(i can on mine) some of them go in to the side of the taillight area and you need to cut some of the metal out of the way to get a wrench on them. If you can get at them, definetlty use new bolts and nuts with Locktite. It's really pretty easy to take off the panel too, its all just clips, get a pry bar under them and they just pop off.
