Can some explain the difference why some Blazers came with 235/70/15's and others have the 205/70/15? Was this just a tire option or was the gearing different?
I'm trying to decide on replacement tires for my '99 LS 4dr 2WD. It originally came with 205's. For the last 6 years I've been running 235/70/15 Bridgestone Duelers. I've been able to get about 65K out of them and they are due for replacement. I was thinking about going with 225/70/15 Duelers this time. This would be a little less weight yet fill in the wheel wells better than 205's.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. This is my Daily driver.
Thanks,
Rick

Not really a rhyme or reason to what tires went on. No 2nd gen 4x4 came with anything less than 235/70R15. The 2wd were available with 205/70R15 and 235/70R15 as you have stated. I believe that if you had a hitch, you also got the 235/70R15 tires with them. I believe that was standard with the hitch, but could have still been ordered with the 205/70R15...

So, was there not an gear option when you ordered the bigger tires? Also, did they do something for the speedometer if you changed tires?
