trans fluid out exhaust?
I have a 1995 Blazer 4.3 vortek 4x4. I sent the truck to a shop to put a new distributer in it, while it was in the shop they told me it wasn't engaging into 4wd and said it was a vacuum issue. while they had it on the lift messing with the vacuum lines it started spewing smoke through the exhaust, they told me that it was oil and I needed a new motor. after closer inspection i found that it was trans fluid. any ideas?
sounds like you need a new shop. You dont need a new motor just because there is oil being burned. It will probably need either new valve seals or piston rings. I dont think its even possible for trans fluid to get to the exhaust. How did you determine it was trans fluid
the fluid that is leaking out of the exhaust is redish in color. I was told that if the vacuum lines are mised up it can back fluid up into the intake and out the exaust, but cant find where any lines are mixed up.
