Well it looks like its my turn to have trans issues yeah fun I know,

Well I was going to back up into my parking spot and I put the car in reverse and there was a thump and a whine and it didn't go any where. So I attempted to use drive.... Well it goes into drive but it wont shift till I let up on the gas pedal. So what do you guys think? I stopped driving it to not create any further damage.

Question: It was THAT serious THAT sudden? Weren't there any symptoms prior to this failure? Details please! My unit has 184K on it and while its been maintained, I would like to know what the shop said about your trans! Or did you just opt to rebuild at this time for peace of mind? Thank you step66

sounds like your sun shell gear... happened to mine this summer. I lost reverse, second, and third. after getting the tranny rebuild it was as good as new

 

what was the cost on the repair if you don't mind me asking
