So what are we looking at? Leaking up front as in by the radiator? Or you mean by the front of the trans? Where is the smoke coming from a leak dripping on the exhaust? Or is the smoke blowing out the rear seal on the trans? If your fluid burned smelling? Is it overfull, underfull? I understand that when you stop, it is not free wheeling, it is still pushing forward and going against your brakes? It feels like you have your foot on the gas and brakes when stopped? Can the truck be put into neutral?

I have a feeling the tranny may be done if thats the case. What brought on the symptoms a hard shift and a bang?

At least you can cash and carry a trans for about 750 bucks from the rebuilder in your area. Im sure a hot woman may even be able to get one for less if the mechanic is impressed that she knows what shes talking about and is gonna change it herself.

Dont be scared, swapping the trans is not a crazt job, its just awkward as its under the truck and you may not have a garage. Im sure someone you know has a garage you could use.

So, turns out it was the intake, had a big hole in a little elbow looking piece of hose, I found it by straying MAF cleaner around the intake area, in one spot the engine would rev real loud, so then I took a piece of hose and put one end to my ear listening for the spot where air was loudest.....found it, I took the elbow looking end off an old spark plug cable and put that in in its place....all fixed....for now.

thanks
