Transfer Case Input Seal Retainer Bolts
Hello,
So my grandfathers 95 blazer started puking tranny oil out of the vent pipe. Pulled the TC fill plug and drained damn near 2 qrts of extra oil. Ordered parts now I'm sitting here with the TC on the floor and... I CANT GET THESE DAMN BOLTS OUT!

Is removing the seal retainer a nesessity? I'm sure it is. These are on there friggin tight though. Not even my impact gun getting them loose.
Any ideas? help? or does anyone know where I could order a new set of bolts just in case we end up having to drill these out?

It is not necessary, nor advised to attempt to remove the input bearing retaining plate. Those bolts typically require heat to remove. The seal can be popped out and replaced without removing this plate.
So it be. Thanks for the info. 2 guides I found floating around mentions removing it. and with no metal lip I was afraid of mucking up the rubber pounding it it. But we made it work without removing that plate.
Its weird because 2 of my jeepin buddies both looked at it and asked "why are there no bolt heads there". Maybe its a gm thing.
Thanks fot the help! I may return in the future is we run into more issues. My grandpas had this blazer since new and not sure if he'll ever get rid of it.
