Default transmission n initial startup problems

Hey guys I'm new to the Chevy world n the blazer forum. I'm glad to b a part. Ok so here we go. Wen I first start my blazer I hav to let it sit n idle for abt 20-30 seconds before taking off or else wen I try to giv it gas it will kinda stutter. N second ill b driving 60 dwn the highway n my rpm's just started jumping from abt 1700-2000 back n forth. The tranny was rebuilt less then a year ago n shifts smoothly thru all gears. Is really appreciate any help from u guys. I hav read many posts on here n u all seem to kno wat ur talking abt. I can do basic mechanic work but I'm no certified mechanic by ne means. It's a 2000 4x4 blazer btw. Thanks again!!!

I had a Jimmy with the same issues. I would take down the pan and change the filter first off. Make sure you have the proper fluid level when you fill it back up. Adding some Lucas transmission treatment is not a bad idea before topping off. Having a transmission pressure gauge would let you know volumes of information. Most people don't have much use for such a tool but a good transmission shop would. I have seen at times where the trans dipstick has been shortened due to the stop mounted to the valve body was improperly positioned and the stick will not go back in completely. Rather than removing the pan to correct this issue the dipstick was shortened to fit. This will result in a false reading of being filled to the proper level. Check your stick. Filters are cheap however taking down the pan to get to the filter can sometimes require getting the Y pipe loose from the exhaust manifold so the pan can clear the filter and valve body.

Well thanx a lot for ur input bud. I'll try changing the filter for sure n I gues call up a trans shop n c if they would do tht pressure test. N thts crazy abt chopping the dipstick n all. Like I said, I'm new to the Chevy world lol. I'm just wanting to get everything fixed before I start digging into to it n customizing stuf.

Just when cold.. or hot, as well?

Try disconnecting the connector for the MAF and starting right out. If it's better, then clean the MAF.
