Default Trying to find good manual

I'm trying to find a detailed Factory Service manual set that won't break the bank or maybe a pdf?

I've got a 2001 GMC jimmy and have a physical Haynes but I'm after the factory stuff.

Try looking on Amazon or ebay. I have the full factory set for my 2000 that is worth it's weight in gold. I also picked up a set for a 1999 but don't have that year. Tried selling it a few years back but no takers. They are out there but can be hard to find.

I bought the full 3 book service manual used from E-bay for about $100 CAD. I feel like it is almost necessary for a person maintaining the vehicle.

So I've seen the "factory service" and the "workshop" ones, does the distinction make a big difference? Like would I only be more or less getting a slightly better Haynes/Chiltons with the workshop version?

The two set I have both say factory service manual on them. These are what you want. Both are three volumes and thick. My 2000 set does have greasy finger prints throughout the pages, though I can still read everything. I have never heard of the workshop manuals.

The good news is they're out there. The bad news is it may take some time to find one for your exact year. I found a five (5) book set, in unused condition, for my '99 on Amazon (of all places) about 8 months ago (the extra 2 books deal with Onstar). I just used a Google search every week or two until I finally got the hit, but the first place to keep an eye on is this forum's For Sale section.

If you only need some general information that's common to most S/T trucks, there's been a pdf manual on CD available on eBay off and on. I bought it a couple years ago, but found it lacking the kind of depth I was looking for. It portends to cover 1st AND 2nd Gen Blazers from '94 to '05 so it's very limited in scope.

Good Luck.
