Exclamation Turns over but no start... Help!!!

Hi Im new to this forum. I have a buddy that has a 2001 olds bravada with a 4.3L.

He was driving down the road and it died, no signs of problems before it quit. All it does is just crank over. We replaced the battery, crank sensor, and cam sensor so far with no luck. Also we pulled coil wire and spark plug wires and seem to be getting a good spark everywhere. I can hear the fuel pump kick on when the key is turned. Got me puzzled...

Any ideas anyone??? Any ideas or input would be helpfull, thanks.

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Thanks for the tips, we'll check the fuel pressure and see what we get. Also, could there be a wire connection somewhere loose? We got a wiring diagram for it, just wondering if there were and common problems to give a place to start.

Also wanted to re-state that the fuel pump does come on and the little valve stem on the fuel pipe does spray some fuel out when pushed when the key is turned on then off.

Why did you replace the battery if its turning over? Troubleshoot the problem instead of throwing parts at the problem. Too expensive.

Just because you hear the pump doesnt mean it is making enough pressure.

One quick way to see if its getting fuel is to give a a SHORT shot of starting fluid. If it fires and dies then you arent getting fuel for some reason.

Do you still have the old parts that are still good?

Battery needed changed bad anyways, would'nt crank over very long. Also it has threw a code for the crank shaft sensor awhile back thats why we changed it. All the wiring to the sensors checked out good.

The fuel pump quit all together now, so thats probly it. Its a nice looking vehicle but what a nightmare, one thing after another, then another.

Once again, thanks.

There is a fuel pressure test port on top of the motor on the main fuel supply line. You will need the appropriate test gauge to test the pressure & leak down.
