Exclamation The ugly duckling: 1995 S10 Blazer

I am hoping to get a few people to chime in, I am primarily irritated about the transmission in the truck right now, but there are other things. I have been reading posts, threads, and discussions for several hours now and have found this about the 95s:

Came with a 4L6OE transmission.

Only replaceable with the same year 4L6OE.

The 95 came out with 3 different flavors of computers depending on the MONTH it was made. Varied from OBD1, 1.5, and 2.

Had 2 different 4wd controls. Push button and manual (Didn't read this one, just own both types at the moment...)

Haven't found more than one transfer case and can't remember the name of it at the moment.

The 4.3 used was the same one used form the previous ?2 years? I think... 93-95 CPI Vortec. Sounds right... But then switched the tranny.

Autozone shows different part numbers on radiators between 94, 95, and 96...

Question, was there more than 1 4L6OEs for the different computer types?

Is there any differences in the transfer case for the manual shift and push button controls?

Can you put any form of a turbo 350 or 400 in it? 700r4?

I guess we are lucky the rims interchange with other years! Whew, what a relief!

Anyways, I am hoping to gather all the "special" things about the 95s, so if you have something, please put it out there.

The 4L60E is an electronically controlled 700R4. Same trans, same dimensions.

If the only diff between the 700r4 and 4L6OE is computer stuff, and a throttle linkage, sounds in theory that it would work just fine as long as you don't mind a check engine light? Or am I missing the big point? Thanks for the replys.
