Default vacuum leak help

hi i have a 2000 4wd 2 door blazer and i had a high idle issue and i chased down a vacuum leak which it lead me down a long hose to under the radiator i had to remove the plastic skid plate to access it and now its hooked to something i have never seen before the vacuum hose goes into a electric solenoid that appears to operate some kind of valve that directs coolant flow into some kinda thing i have no idea what it is im guessing its something to do with the 4x4 id just like to know what its called and what it does it appears that the electric solenoid is what is leaking is it ok to drive with out this hooked up thanks for any ideas

Is it under the battery tray? If not what side of the truck is it on?

Yeah, I don't know if you'll get any codes if you bypass it. But my understanding is that it's only there for emissions purposes; no effect on how the truck runs.
