just replaced the intake gasket and now my charging system is not working properly. I follow all lines and seems to be good. the problem I am having is that I charge the battery and let the truck run for a little bit stays at 14= volts then suddenly drops down to 11volts and will not "recharge" I had the alternator bench tested the battery also they both checked O.K. is there something else I should be checking or any other suggestions for the solution

funny I'm having a similar issue on my 95 blazer as well ... when you had the alternator tested... did you have them test it a few times... to "get hot" if I had to take a guess... it sound like either the voltage regulatoron the alternator is dying... which isn't noticable until it runs for awhile and gets warm... or you have bad wiring somewhere...I dont think theres a single system in teh car that can drop your voltage by that much other than the starter... lik eI said I'm having a similar issue myself after dirivng for about 10-20 min I look at teh dash and the voltage is well below 14.. usually hovering somewhere around 11-12v 12.6 whenI read it with my meter..
compiled with some other issues I've been having... I have a "capacitor noise" that REALLY high pithced hiss.. coming from my alternator... which is why I'm leaning towrd the voltage regulator...
hope that helps
please let us know what you find...

well, I took the running blazer up to AZ and had them test it while it was running. the guy didn't even put a load on and it was showing it was bad. actually the same one who had bench tested it. lucklily it had a lifetime warranty. I put the new one on right there and the voltage has been fine since

there are times the when I turn the key, nothing, flick it a couple times then it kicks, my dash lights at times will flicker other times my voltage gauge drops to 9 volts sometimes almost stalls w/o pedal pressure, but most of the time it will run great. any help will be great

Honestly get yourself away from autozone!!! Their electronics area from what i`m hearing is not so good.... If you have AAA and you live near a NAPA store you get a discount thru there for having the AAA.. Their parts are more reliable, and its a brand name store...Give a diff store a try and not pepboys or one of those cheapy stores...
