have the alternator tested. you might have got a bad one. Could also be a bad fusable link.
not sure if they had one on the 97s.
Also, please use punctuation. it makes reading you post a lot easier.

Sorry about the punctuation, I had just got done with a 13 hour work day lol
I will get that alternator checked out today and seee if that was the case.
Was wondering isnt there a way to test one with a multimeter?? to see if it is pumping out a current

My volt meter on my dash has not been telling me
the truth for the past 4-5 years. I never figured out why.
I figure a ground or bad connection.
I bought an inexpensive volt meter for about 7-10 dollars
that you can plug into your cigarette lighter. I have relied on it
for the proper reading. My dash may say 10 but the volt
meter in the cigarette lighter reads 14. An easy way to see
if the readings agree with each other. I have depended on it
for the proper readings and I no longer care what the dash does.
Just a thought.

Most multimeters will blow their fuse if you try to read an alternator's amperage. You will have to use the machine at autozone with the amp clamp.
