Water In Dashboard

Recently I have been hearing like a "sloshing" sound coming from the dashboard, passenger side. Sounds like water
in the dashboard.
I have also noticed that the usual puddle of condensation doesn'talways appear under the truck after the I have used the air conditioning. Sometimes it does appear.
Maybe the problem is a leaky windshield, although I never get any water inside the passenger compartment.
Any ideas?
It's a 2001, 2-door, non-4X4
in the dashboard.

When the engine is cold, repeat cold.
Remove the radiator cap and fill the radiator with fluid, fill the overflow tank to the cold fill line and the ocean surf sounds will go away.

This is usually caused by a low coolant level (like brock said above) and or a partially restricted heater core. That is IF you are hearing it on acceleration. As far as the puddle of water, if the ambient humidity isn't high, you wont get a puddle of condensation from the A/C evaporator, because the air is dry. You probably have a coolant leak, I'd check the water pump and lower intake manifold gaskets first.

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I had the same "problem" of the sloshing sound (seems to be a very common complaint). To resolve the "problem", park the vehicle with the front end higher than the rear end (I used my wheel ramps). With the engine running and the radiator cap off, slowly fill the radiator to capacity. This should drive any trapped air OUT of the engine. It worked for me as I have not had any more sloshing sounds for a few months now. (I had already replaced the water pump, thermostat and back flushed the heater core, and a thorough check of the engine area (above and below) revealed no leaks anywhere). Good Luck.

If you have a AC Delco radiator cap...REPLACE IT! They dont hold a seal. My coolant was always gurgling and sloshing, thn i found out in another forum that it was a common problem with the radiator cap. I replaced mine and it stopped.

Thank you for all your answers!
I was down about a gallon of Dex-Cool and did manage to get most of it into the actual radiator and the rest into the overflow tank.I haven't driven enought to see if the sloshing sound went completely away. I have not heard it this morning.
I will replace the radiator cap as well.
The air conditioning seems to be working much better also. I do not see any leaks, so I guessI just "burned" up about a gallon of coolant after 93,000 miles.
Thanks again.
Chris
