I have a 2001 Blazer that is having weird dash issues. When first started in the morning everything generally works fine. But then the whole instrument panel goes out, everything including the radio. At first I thought a circuit breaker was going bad because it will work for a short time. But there aren't any circuit breakers that feed the dash. Today I found that I can make it do the crazy thing it does at will. With the engine running and the dash dead I turned on the headlights the dash was still dead. Now the strange part I pulled the dimmer stalk to put the high beams on and the dash came to life even the radio worked. I let go of the dimmer stalk the dash went dead, pull the stalk dash comes to life every time. With the headlights off the dash is dead. I'm not sure if it's the dimmer stalk causing the problem or fixing the problem.
