When i crank my truck it makes a winding noise and shuts off. Second time in 3 months ths t ive replaced the starter. Its not the problem. Its done this once while driving. No clue whats going on. The first time this started 3 months ago i replaced the starter and it was fine. Now its doi g it again. Replaced the starter and its still happening. I have a new belt, wires plugs, distributor and button, new blower motor (although it has nothing to do with this problem) and a rebuilt front end. Im sick of spending money. I would have kept my hearse had i known this truck was goi g to cause me so much grief. Please someone help me figure out whats wrong.

This only happens while cranking? What shuts off? The engine or the starter?

 

happens when cranking, the engine shuts off. starter is good. dont know what the problem is

 

If you're cranking, that means the engine is not running, and you're trying to start it. How does it shut off, if it's already off? Need a little better explanation.
