hello all, back on here for first time a month or so. my 97 blazer intake gasket was leaking so i have the intake off and am almost ready to reinstall. I was curious what other things should be changed/updated/fixed while i have it apart? lots of forums had suggested injectors and water pump but i wanted to ask the experts here that know these particular trucks. thanks for any and all help!
currently im planning on doing the following
gaskets of course
plugs & wires
distributor cap
pcv(do i need to do this?)
air filter
some hoses that were looking bad
some vacuum lines that are cracked
serpentine belt

I regret not replacing my water pump when I did my manifold last year. 6 months later I had to replace the pump...then the lower radiator hose when some idiot didn't twist it out of the way of the serpentine belt. If you removed your fan as some of the guides suggest (I didn't) you might as well change the pump since they're pretty cheap. I did, however, replace the cap and rotor since it was the original from 99. I wasn't going to replace the injectors unless I had a hint that there was something wrong with them. Half the times i replace things that don't I don't need to I run into problems. I did spend a lot of time cleaning things before putting it all back together. I'm sure others will suggest replacing some of the sensors that seem to be common problem areas.

thanks for the suggestion, ill check the price of the water pump and if its not too much do it at the same time, i had to do it on my last s10 and it would be much easier while it is all apart. now that u mention it my temp gauge was not working right, did the thermostat already so prob need to check the temp sensors too. will look into that more too.
