What green slime mean on an A/C office valve?

Default What green slime mean on an A/C office valve?

I just pulled this from an A/C system that had sat for at least 18 months. I think the green is leak dye but the slime? Bad oil? Moisture.? Meth?

Any help would apprectiated. The system will have new hoses, liquid line,, condensor, accumulator/dryer, orifice valve. I think I should flush the evaporator.

Green slime is some combination of refrigerant oil, moisture, acid, overheating, dissolved copper, air. It is very difficult to clean but not impossible. I only know of this issue with residential systems where there are copper windings in the compressor. In automotive maybe the copper is in bronze bearings or the valves. I don’t know if this problem is as difficult in automotive. A key to this problem is no shut down after a leak and low pressure so if you attempt a repair be certain that the low pressure switch is working and all leaks are repaired. A common flushing agent is RX11.

There may also be some kind of stop leak involved but I never use the stuff so I have no experience with it
