where's the engine knock sensor in 95 blazer?
i took my 1995 blazer 4.3L v6 to a shop to have diagnosed and the only fault code appeared was an engine knock sensor, some else after it, main line or somethin. Anyone know where it's located and how to change it?? i went to the parts store to get one, but she told me there are 2 engine knock sensors, but i don't know which one i need to replace. The mechanic said this would stop my engine from missing but i'm not sure. I've already given it a tuneup, changed map sensor, so those aren't it, any suggestions?? thanks
i'd think the only way a bad knock sensor would make the engine miss is if it provides such a bad reading that the computer retards the timing too much. i'm not even sure that's possible.
anyone else with input on this one?
by the way, you might want to pick up a haynes/chilton manual for your truck or try to find a used factory service manual set on ebay.

On my '00 (SCFI), it is located on the driver's side of the bellhousing flange on the back of the engine block.
I think that some had the knock sensor in one of the cylinder heads, but I do not know what the earlier CPI motors had them located...
