Default Whine... and other issues.

Hi,

I have 2000 Chevy Blazer two-wheel drive. I recently started to hear a whine from under the hood, coming from the direction of the engine. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have also had some interesting trouble with my radiator being empty lately, my air conditioning and heating not working and then working all of the sudden, my car not speeding up when I hit the gas (like it's in neutral or something), the engine being really loud in the morning when I go to drive the car the first time that day (I drive it every day), and finally, the car turning off altogether on me today. Just shutting down right in the middle of the street. Someone suggested that this could be a transmission problem, but it seems to go deeper than that. The whining noise under the hood is getting worse progressively and I fear that somehow, the engine is about to go. My main suspicion is that somehow, water is not getting to the engine. Now, when I open my radiator cap, the fluid is so full that it almost leaks out, as where a couple weeks ago, it was empty every time I opened it up.

Suggestions would be highly appreciated! Is this something small or something big?

Thanks.

if the radiator is empty and your hearing a whine, its most likley a waster pump but i cant be 100% sure unless i hear the noise (upload a video maybe) the heat would not work for the same reason, you need a topped off cooling system with no leaks in the system for the heat to work 100%. and with the car not speeding up when you hit the gas....Do the RPM's go up with out the truck moving much? if so the transmission is slipping and it needs to be rebuilt ( you should see a check engine light if its slipping, do you have any codes?). with the engine being really loud, thats just the fan and clutch assembly. You can reaplce the fan clutch if it bothers you that much, but it wont hurt the engine by leaving it alone, so if you can live with the noise in the morning, then i say deal with it, i do on my truck. and with the truck shutting down completley, it could be a number of things from a fuel issue to a ignition switch issue, more testing is required to pinpoint this issue. Once again, do you have any codes?
