Default White plastic arm on blend door broke off, I'm assuming it's a dash pull now?

While changing the blend door actuator on my 2001 Blazer with auto climate, I was putting the actuator back on the blend door white plastic arm and little tab - and with hardly any sort of effort...it just broke off.

I can't believe it.

But anyways - I'm assuming the dash has to come out now right?

Do a good search on this topic and you will see how others fixed this without pulling the dash out.

Me...I would just take the dash out. Not really all that difficult to do. Just need to label where all the screws go. Also helps to have another to assist in lifting the dash out.

Good luck....take pictures and post them.

Crisis adverted for now - I somehow by absolute fluke found the end piece of the arm with the nub on it.

Redneck'd a fix for now with JB Weld Plastic Bonder and so far it seems to be incredibly strong. Fabbed a small square piece of thin hard plastic as a mounting plate, bonded the end piece to that, then bonded that cured setup to the arm and it feels incredibly strong. Time will tell.

Thank God I have very articulate hands lol

Used car dealers, in an effort to eliminate a smokers foul odor, put an Ozone generaor inside. After about a day of Ozone the smokers stink is almost eliminated, but the interior plastics are rendered very brittle. I know this doesnt help your present problem, but maybe explain the cause.
