Default Whole mess of problems.

I have a 1997 blazer 4x4. Ok im going to start at the beginning of the problem just in case there is something useful. Ok so my GF was driving the blazer to work the other day, the front oil cooler line blew and the car died, not sure if it over heated or what but it happened about 5 min after leaving home. So i replaced the line and everything went well. Then i start the car and the power windows dont work, the blower motor doesnt work, the overhead display doesn't work, the illuminated numbers on the auto shifter dont work, along with the dash illumination. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be i have to drive this thing 1500km on Friday. Thanks for any info.

Whole mess of problems, one fix: https://blazerforum.com/forum/articl...-switch-33465/ Very common on 1997, it's the only year they used that particular switch.

I had the ignition switch done about 5 months ago. You still think that's what it is?

You can check the various circuits for power and make sure they have it when they should. Very easy test with a test light.

I cheaped out and put one in from the place they put on the menu. The wires, about half the gage as the one from GM, got six months. Still odd that this happend at the same time as oil line. Did you bang around under the dash for anything? Like with computers I am a big un-plug and plug guy. You might try un-bolting the igniton switch block conector, putting some di-electric grease along the contacts and slapping it back. See what happens.
